Polyethylene terephthalate (PETE or PET) is the
most commonly used thermoplastic polymer in the world and is better known in the textile
industry by the trade name “polyester.”
Polyethylene, referred to as PE, is usually a
mixture of polymers and ethylene. It has mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical, and
optical properties. It is a type of thermoplastic used to manufacture bags, tubing,
sheeting, stretch and shrink films.
Polypropylene is currently one of the fastest
growing polymers. Much of this growth is attributed to polypropylene’s ability to
displace conventional materials (wood, glass, metal) and other thermoplastics at lower
cost.
Polycarbonate (PC) plastics are a naturally
transparent amorphous thermoplastic. Although they are made commercially available in a
variety of colors,the raw material allows for the internal transmission of light nearly in
the same capacity as glass.
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC or Vinyl) is a high strength thermoplastic material widely used in pipes and medical devices but the list is endless. It is the world's third-most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer... But, what is PVC? What is it made up of? How do you process it?
In Plastics Magnesium Oxide is used as polyester
thickeners, bulk molding compounds and as an acid acceptor. Magnesium Carbonate is used as a
catalyst.
Adding talc to PP notably enhances its properties, including greater stiffness/rigidity; higher impact strength (particularly at sub-zero temperatures); better heat, creep and chemical resistance; and especially increased dimensional stability, even after molding.

Chemtrade Marketing (Pty) Ltd began as a consulting company in 2012. In 2016, the decision was taken that the Business change it's strategy from consulting to a fully trading company due to the request from its client base that there was opportunities for BBB-EE companies to enter the South African polymer / poly-olefins markets.
As a trading business, we aim to become a Global Integrated Company and as a comprehensive business partner to the South African, and sub Saharan Regions.
